Today I am meditating on this one verse:

John 6:68 - Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life."

Jesus had been teaching the disciples in John 6 and they became disappointed in what He was saying. It was not what they wanted to hear. They knew what they wanted Him to do, but His plan sounded much different. Therefore, verse 66 says that many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. Then Jesus turns to His closest 12 disciples and asks them if they, too, want to go away from Him. Verse 68 was Peter's answer.

Oh, Lord, make this my answer to the many things that You ask of me. When I feel like running away and hiding or sinking into sadness; when I am tempted to go to other things/people for understanding and comfort.........make me a close disciple like Peter........make my answer the same as Peter's..........."Where else would I go for You ALONE have words of eternal life."
